Come to the Lawn & Garden Show on March 30th (10-4pm) and purchase raffle tickets to win the HLMGA Raffle Quilt!
"Wildflowers of the Hill Country" pieced by Karen Allen, Kathy Forisha,  Julie Griser, Julie Sartor, and quilted by Gretchen Thompson.

The Quilt Project was created as a fund-raising activity where talented Master Gardeners meet to piece, stitch, and create a quilted wonder.

A Chairperson volunteers to head up the Project.  Volunteers meet and decide on a quilt design to make.  The pattern and fabric are purchased (sometimes donated).  The Chairman of the Committee breaks down the quilt construction into bite size pieces so that as many people who are volunteering can participate.  All the parts are cut and distributed to the quilters.  Meetings are held at different times to go over the quilt construction so that everyone is on the same page.
Once all parts are put together the quilt is sent to the person who will use a long arm to
actually quilt it.  When the quilt is returned from the quilter, the ladies get together to
add the binding.  A fabric piece is created to show the names of all the ladies who worked
on the quilt. It is a very worthwhile project and has been very successful as a money maker
at the Lawn and Garden show.
