The King’s Garden is a new Highland Lakes Master Gardeners project for volunteering located in Kingsland, TX.  It is a community garden sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Kingsland.

The King’s Garden was established in 2014 on land that was donated by a church member.  The layout plan was made with attention to the details.   It’s a securely fenced 100 X 110 ft. parcel.  It has a solid shed with a plethora of tools and spare parts.  It even has its own well for the irrigation system. There are 39 four foot wide beds about 20 feet (+ or -) long.  The Church provides an ample budget and an involved coordinator who was one of the original gardeners.

Vegetables grown here go right next door to the Share the Harvest Food Pantry to help feed 168 local families per week.

We would like to invite any of our members from Kingsland and the surrounding communities to help revitalize this garden and see just how much this plot can produce.

Make sure you bring some “doggy - horsey” treats for the neighbor horse that will often watch us work.  We decided to call her “Hungry” because she responds to food.

The King’s Garden is located on the grounds of the First Baptist Church, 3435 Highway 1431 in Kingsland.  For information about volunteering, contact Hank Rominski, 860-575-8098, Hank.Rominski@gmail.com.
