The HARTH Foundation Project
HARTH Foundation Workday - Master Gardener Program
The HARTH Foundation has a scheduled workday 3-4 times a year. Work normally will begin at 8:30 am and end around 3:00 pm. However, workers are welcome to just stay for part of the day.
What kind of work do you do?
Most of the work is physical.  We cut back and trim a lot of vines hanging over rock walls like Carolina Jazmine.  We use a tractor and trailer for haling to the compost or burn pile.  Tractor operations are normally done by the HARTH employees. The owners do have some less physical projects like creating a flower bed near key areas of the ranch.  They also have a special need for someone to come out 2-3 times week during the summer to water plants which are more than 50 feet from a water faucet.  The work is not hard, just takes time; 2-4 hours normally.
Plan to bring landscaping tools as the work includes trimming shrubs and small tree limbs.
Bring work gloves, hand and electric trimmers, blowers, rakes, shovel or pitch fork.
Be sure to bring a lunch, water bottle, bug spray, and sun screen.

The HARTH Foundation is located at: 3307 Sunset Cliff Road, Burnet, TX. Google maps will help you get there.
